Why did Poseidon Scream when flying toward the sea?

Great flying scene,
slightly marred by a god
crying out as if expecting pain,
and where were Zeus lightning bolts?
He could've taken on the titans all by himself.

first a Gravesender.now a New Yorker.always a Gravesender.

Ehm ... Zeus isnt the allpowerfull one. Titans are as much god as Zeus is or the rest of the bunch. So taking on the Titans all by himself? Wouldnt last long, lightning or not.

that depends on the myth in most myths Zeus as the all father or king of the gods has the totality of the gods power at his finger tips and so in most lore and myths if he were to face off an enemy even if they were as powerful as the titans he would be able to desimate them because he would have the strength and power of all the Olympians in his one body

reply

Well of course, didnt say he isnt gonna dish out some serious damage. But he isnt gonna win either all by himself ... was my point, im not english :D might have phrased that wrong.

Most myths? I don't recall any myths where he embodied all the gods powers. He most definitely would not have been able to decimate the titans by himself either considering the Olympians barely won the war against the titans in the first place.

In the Iliad, Zeus said that all the other gods combined would be no match for him. However, Zeus' power mostly comes from his thunderbolt. Without it, he's significantly weaker.

Also, the OP is wrong, as most people already stated. The Titans are very powerful - Zeus cannot defeat them alone.

In the Iliad Zeus also said that "not without much struggle would he be able to force Poseidon off the battlefield".

Zeus was strong, but he wasn't unstoppable. Zeus could be easily overpowered by sleep which is a god in Greek myth.

reply

Yeah, I wouldn't say he is unstoppable either.

You have to be a complete tool to think that was a scream of pain and not a scream of rage/strength, like men usually do when they are about to do something awesome.

reply

Yeah this was a scream of rage more than anything!!

Like when Rambo jumped off that cliff. He was screaming with strength, enraged at hitting all those branches.

"Aaahh-ooph, Aaarhh-umph, Aaahh-unhf, AAahOowk! Aaadriaayump, Uungh, Whalmp!"
KER SPLASH! . . . "Whew!"
