One of the worst movies I've seen

I usually love most movies, and movies that everyone doesn't really like, but wow...this one was one of the worst movies I've seen, I don't even know how it was made so recently. I caught this on a day when I was bored at home and this movie happened to be on one of the movie channels I subscribe to. It was so boring, and it never seemed to go anywhere. The story was flat all the way through and I just didn't care about the characters. But that's not even my biggest gripe about this. I don't know what the budget was, but the cinematography and vfx were some of the worst I've seen in a movie like this to date. Everything looks like it was shot on a stage with horrible green screen and there was no scope to the movie at all. Everything was shot so close up all the time that there was no world to make this movie believable. You could tell that the main dude's village was just a tossed up selection of extras roaming about aimlessly on a stage somewhere and for some reason, the part where they find those psychic girls in that place in the desert seemed also like it just wasn't anywhere? I don't even know how to explain it..I couldn't picture the world that they were supposed to be in, which made the movie seem like it was shot during the star trek days (obviously not that bad, but it's like they drew inspiration from that type of set up) Anyway, my whole family thought it was a joke and couldn't believe that this movie was actually, seriously, filmed and produced and neither could I. I won't even rate it, because it doesn't even deserve 1 star. Also, Henry Cavill is pretty to look at, but a terrible actor. Although it's weird because I remember liking his acting in The Tudors, but in this movie and Man of Steel, he just...plain sucks. So yeah. I guess that's my review.

No one ever reads past a "worst" title, except in the case of a Pauly Shore movie.

You either haven't seen many movies or are given to hyperbole.

This movie was just terrible...

agreed

this movie redefines what a boring film should be

Agreed. This movie was ridiculous. I have seen few films with as many plot holes and goofs, such poorly written characters and such a poorly written story. It should be grouped into a collection with other recent mythology based films, such as "The Legend of Hercules", and be called "Myth Movies 2.0: The Wastes of Time."

This film was simply awful.

Well said, Gabe1972. The movie was absolutely ridiculous. Had nothing to do with Ancient Greece.

I just found it really confusing, in that I seemed to really like all of the individual elements of it, but then, like you, I felt no real emotional connection to it. Flat as a pancake. Weird.

This movie was ok. It looked almost like a made for TV movie or a stage play because of all the artistic sets. The cast was good enough, in my mind. Mickey Rourke was good as the villain. The story was so-so. I gave it 6/10.

Sadly, I actually found myself laughing at Mickey Rourke's acting. He delivered his lines like he was at a casual rehearsal reading his sides for the part. Worst I've ever seen him. I was actually embarrassed for him.

Everyone here seems to have their own personal complaint about different actors, but for me it was Rourke.

The director then managed to ruin a movie that probably could have been pretty good, with TERRIBLE editing, and no continuity. Even Isabel Lucas, who I find very attractive, and drew me to the movie, was atrocious in the acting department.

This movie is a 5. It is way over rated here.
