Story about lye and vietnam

Was anyone else really turned off by the story about lye and how the one guy used it on the people of Vietnam? I know that the movie is supposed to put you on edge, but it was just way too much for me personally.

reply

Not really. Not after he showed the picture of a bloodied and brutalized woman and described all "kinds of crazy stuff" she did to stay alive and then said it didn't work. Or how the village was named "Phuk Long" and how they "ph*cked long and hard all right".

After everything else the guy described, that one story wasn't any more horrific.

IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT YOU THINK...

fyi phuoc long was a real town in vietnam, and yes the nva did massacre and bury lots of sva soldiers and civillians in water and lye,but the problem with the story in the film is its all *beep* was no phuk long massacre by any american soldiers because there were none there to fight or kill anyone.we were pretty much out of vietnam before any major battles in phuk long and the ones left were in or around saigon and the embassy at the time.it was late 74 to early 75 when the major fighting took place there and no americans were involved let alone slaughtering any women and children.look it up.

Obviously what I think mattered to you since you took the time to say as much to a 2 yr old post.
