Tonight on Lessons Learned!~!

They were talking about how Hollywood couples example like Brad and Angelina are setting an example like having a kid is cool or something. The thing though they did no discuss is that these people even Jamie Lynn Spears have financial stability and that they can make it look glamorous because they have the money to do so and one of their worries is not how am I going to support my kid/kids. You know teens who get pregnant have that worry unless your parents are wealthy or financially Ok and their willing to be supportive and be a part of it and your having to support yourself and your baby. I also think that Sex Ed. has to get reworked and not so much talk about abstinence but everything that goes in to the process of sex. Asking yourself questions like can you see yourself with this person a month or a year from now? Are you doing this for the right reasons? Do you love this person? Why are you wanting to have Sex? Is it because of pressure to do so? Have you really thought about it and took the time to really analyze it form every angle? It's not something you just jump in to and say hey let's go for it. Child or not Sex is not something I think that should be rushed. Sex Ed. needs to update in a sense where they need to take more time talking about it and talk to girls and guys separately!~!

Good points, especially about the celebrities. I've made that same point myself. These people are rediculously wealthy and can hire nannies. Does anyone honestly think Brad and Angelina or Jamie Lynn for that matter are single handedly raising children? Brad and Angelina most likely have a crew of nannies for their children. Jamie Lynn is a child, so she's not raising a child by herself. I only consider celebrities to be real people to an extent. Their wealth separates them from the reality that most people know. Jamie Lynn doesn't have to worry about working extra hours at her job to feed her child. This is why people who live in the real world have to consider things like should I have sex, do I have enough money or a good enough job to start a family, etc. When you can sell pictures of your children for millions of dollars, you have ceased to live in the real world.

Exactly and the only reason for the selling of the photo's was whatever magazine got it could not print bradgenlina ever again. How ridiculous is that? I think Baby Borrowers was a smart idea and that guy the Child Psychologist I could understand his point of view but his argument was more then anything about entertainment and that seemed to be his main focus and his point and I knew it was going to be a heated discussion. I didn't know that teen pregnancy was real bad in Britain as well. This really beats out you know egg babies or flour sacks or microchip baby dolls. You know teen pregnancy is on the rise but who do we blame, The media? Lack of Sex Ed? What?

Yes, they make it seem like media, school, peer pressure, etc. come before parenting. Honestly if you're brought up correctly and taught things, why whould TV change your mind? On a sidenote, it always bothered me how during things like the Columbine High School shooting the media would go on and on about what movies the kids were watching, video games, music, etc. Barely if ever mentioning the parents and family life of the boys. They actually proposed that a movie made these kids kill other kids. I know that's a much different matter, but I feel when the blame is shifted to media, it's really begs the question: Who raised these kids?

I agree. Ironic enough it was on an episode of Law and Order SVU how the media played a factor. They said the boys were bullied and that they kept to themselves and were constantly ridiculed but then the next day Doom caused them to do this and kids get pregnant because Ellen Page did for an hour and 45 minutes. I loved the women specialist at the end said you know what teenage pregnancy starts with oh Junebug golly gee and ends with getting the boyfriend back and strumming guitars. I myself did really enjoy it as entertainment with a kiss ass soundtrack but that is all I took it as and I think that teenagers are not dumb they just need to be guided or in some cases told what to do or not do you just some guidance.!~!

Yeah and actually I didn't see Juno as glamourizing it exactly. It seemed like a hard time for her, but at the same time it definitely didn't show all the worries and problems that go with it. It played them off in a lighter way and everything ended on a good note, at least for Juno. To me the film is anti teen pregnancy because the situation basically sucks. She's much happier when she can just be a kid again like normal. That's what the ending says to me. Not if you get pregnant everything will work out, but rather why get pregnant as a teen? Why?

True but I also watch The Secret life of an American Teenager and like honestly the pilot If you have ever seen or watched like the news they would count how many times the Osbournes cursed on their show you know like how many bleeps. I was blown away by how many times the word Sex was used on secret life and I thought whoa oh my gosh you know their saying that word like over 6 times and that is really on pretty much every or every other episode but then I thought maybe if it is spoken and said a lot more like talked about then maybe kids are less likely to have it or do it. I know it is difficult for parents to have the talk but if school is giving you anything but the black and white version in a 5 day course out of your health book then who seriously is supposed to tell them not to or just to have an actual conversation. You know Miley Cyrus has a purity ring and so does the Jonas Brothers and I myself as well but that wasn't just until last Christmas I wanted a ring and I'm 24 now but seriously after my health class in high school I literally was left dumbfounded like that's it. You know practice abstinence and if not then use protection and then we moved on to like diseases and that was it. This has always been my decision and I have my reasons for it but Sex Ed. can not be Black and white like that you know in out zip zap next subject and what's worse is it was taught co ed which really does take away from it and now you have 150 electronic gadgets to draw your attention away in class. I this a better taught curriculum where they don't drill it in to your head but at the same time they explain in more full detail and like I said make sure the reasons for why you are, are good ones and their ones your going to stick by!~!
