Why was everyone always so rude to Sonny?

I think what prevented me from really loving this show is the fact that everyone who met Sonny were always so damn rude to her.

Tawni, Chad, Selena Gomez, that little girl who Zora claimed to be "evil," Tawni's mom, that "new girl" waitress from the last episode... I don't even think that's all of them!
