The first Season was so good, the second season was so medicore

I loved the first season, it's in my top 5 for DC seasons. Sonny in the Kitchen With Dinner is probably my favorite episode of a live action DC series since Mother Dearest That's So Raven.

Then you had Season 2, it was filled with bad spoofs of High School Musical and the horrible Sonny/Chad romance. I liked it better when Chad was admiring Sonny from afar and being jealous.

Unless they were planning on making this two seasons all along it was too soon for the romance. Maybe in the sense of Moonlighting?

The writing wasn't as good in the second season either, was it the same writers?

Why didn't he just swim out of the window? Where's Caitlin? Does Tony die?

I agree that season 1 was better. I didn't like the shift toward music in season 2, nor the way Channy played out. It was too soon and should've have built longer. I also liked that season 1 seemed to allow Sonny's plots to revolve more around her other cast members, whereas most of season 2 seemed to focus on her and Chad, with some obvious exceptions.

There were still good episodes though.

really? i thought the characters got much funnier in season 2 & really matured. I laughed at practically every episode. this show always put a smile on my face! & sterling knight has such great comedic timing <3

And apparently, it was going to get worse. They were going to turn it into a drama like JONAS ended up becoming. Season two wasn't without its high points though ("Walk a Mile in My Pants," "Gummy with a Chance," "Random Acts of Disrespect," "Sonny with a Secret," "Sonny with a 100% Chance of Meddling," "That's So Sonny").

In hindsight, maybe it was for the best for SWAC to go out the way it did. At least its second season wasn't as painful to watch as JONAS' second season.
