Another Lousy Low Budget Gay Flick

I caught this one late at night on the Here! channel. My partner & I enjoyed it for a while on a "Mystery Science Theater" level--meaning we ejoyed supplying our own dialogue for this drippy no budget snoozefest. After a while the sub-porno acting, the glacial pacing & the lack of decent script sent us to sleep.

The thing that bugs me is that there are so many of these types of gay flicks around now. Whatever happened to the low to no budget daring gay films of the 70s, 80s & 90s--movies such as "Parting Glances", "The Living End", "Super 8 1/2" or "Outrageous"? I didn't love all of the films I just listed (didn't like S81/2), but at least these films had an origional look and an edge. All of these low budget gay flicks that they play on the Here! channel or show on Netflix streaming feel like bad porno flicks with the hardcore scenes cut out.

When a film has a low budget, the easiest way to tell is the sound, almost always nearly inaudible, fuzzy and just plain bothersome. This is not a low-budget movie. The recording was done by Skywalker Sound. They do not come cheap. There may be other reasons to dislike the film, but a low budget isn't one of them.
