I prefered the old relationship

Honestly I was more interested in the settled relationship - Where did they meet? Why are they living in the middle of nowhere? Why are they being distant now? What is going to happen when they go back together etc. - than I was in the one-week-old flame.

Too bad. Like a lot of indie movies - good premise, but terrible, terrible execution that makes an hour and a half movie feel empty.

I couldn't agree with you more. I actually HOPED to see more of Everett's relationship with his PARTNER, Miles. For all the reasons you listed.

that possibly would have made this bore of a film more interesting.

you mean the control freak guy who treated him like a piece of shyt? meh. he needed to get out of that relationship.

Even his family knew that the partner was scummy, and wanted to see him with Chase.

Swing away, Merrill....Merrill, swing away...

Exactly. Everyone knew he was miserable with the partner.

He needed to get out of that relationship first. Then cavort with someone else. He has a child. Having an affair is not okay.
