How do you upgrade the cross-bow? PLEASE EXPLAIN ASAP

What cross-bow? Do you mean the Bow(I don't think this can be upgraded) or maybe the gatling gun(can't be up-graded). But if there is a cross-bow and somehow I have never found it I am going to be so pissed!!!!
