Way better than THE SOCIAL NETWORK

I wasn't blown away by the social network movie but this movie really blew my mind. The social network is just a dwarf in comparison to the internet porn industry. It's a really interesting movie. It entertained me way more. In my eyes – and I could be wrong – this movie is way more monumental than the social network. Cos let's be honest. Most of the internet is for sharing porn with one another...

Social Network is the most overrated movie in a long time. In 5-10 years that movie will be horribly dated. Facebook will eventually fall off the face of the Internet. Porn on the Internet will always be around as long as there is an Internet, therefore I think this movie will have more relevance as time passes.

And I agree completely with what the OP stated. This movie is more entertaining and I would watch it again before I would ever watch Social Network again.

I was actually surprised that I liked the Social Network. I was biased towards it since I don't use Facebook and I hate how it turns people into zombies. But after seeing I very much enjoyed it. Then again, the movie was more about legal matters than just ass kissing a social network and to me that worked out pretty well since I love those kind of movies.

Middle Men was also a surprise to me. I found it quite enjoyable and very believable to a certain point. It would be nice to know what's real from that story and what's fake but I think it worked out pretty well. It was also nice to see Luke Wilson on a movie again.

I liked them both but you're right in that I liked Middle Men more for the same reasons discussed above.

I think you're on crack if you think that this dreck is in the same universe as The Social Network... You're just as delusional as the guy this movie is based on who says that PTA said that this is the best movie of the last 5 years.... right.

reply

It's in the same universe because both movies are about how just a small group of people revolutionized the Internet.

They are clearly different movies...they aren't on the same level in terms of style...and Social Network works on a whole different level. But which one am I likely to watch again? Middle Men.

I have both on Blu-Ray, by the way...so I am not dogging on Social Network. Just saying I enjoyed Middle Men more.

Middlemen was way too corny and cartoonish and Luke Wilson can be such a non presence sometimes. Definitely preferred The Social Network, not like there's much of a comparison between the two.

Babe 2: Pig in the City is by far the best talking pig movie of the last three hundred years.

-Middle Men (2009) - 8/10 (in my Top 10 films of 2009)
-The Social Network (2010) - 7/10 (probably a 6.5) (this film is overrated for sure)

at the end of the day... Middle Men is more entertaining.

"Network" didn't really hold my interest. "Middle Men" was pretty cool. I own both, but I probably won't watch "SN" for a while. Just no likeable characters.

I also found the idea that those two morons invented what is basically "paypal" to be fascinating.

Son, you can't polish a turd

Yeah, it's definitely a more interesting movie...

-Middle Men (2009) - 7/10 (my #8 movie of 2009)

-The Social Network (2010) - 5/10 (Thumbs Down. it's ultimately average/forgettable. not a movie ill re-watch and like i always say re-watch factor is what ultimately makes or breaks a movie in the long run.)

in fact, i just re-watched Middle Men just now (Aug 18th 2015), which makes for i think my 3rd viewing of it total now (my previous viewing was Nov 4th 2012), and it was a 7.5-8/10 but dropped back to a 7/10. still a solid movie just not as good as it used to be for me.
