Filming is definitely underway. If you type in Salvation Boulevard on twitter you'll find quite a few mentions of sightings/comments by the actors themselves.

Filimg is underway around the corner from my house!! Plymouth, Michigan - Napier and Powell Roads are completely closed off for filming.
