A great film - Barret + Fielding in the leads wouldn't have worked

I don't want to give any spoilers here but the story needed these new characters.
It just wouldn't have worked with the Boosh guys in the lead roles, the Howard and Vince characters just aren't compatible with the narrative of the film.

I saw it tonight, thought it was great. It had a lovely surrealness to it. Just don't expect Mighty Boosh because the humour is subtly different.

Honestly... I'm not furking your face!!

I completely agree. New characters needs new actors. They did a great job, Edward Hogg was especially good. I think the film had more heart and meaning to it so for it to be completely hilarious in every scene like the Boosh is wouldn't have worked at all.

I'm completely in love with this film, I'm surprised there aren't more positive comments about it on here. I'm excited to see what Paul King will do next.

You're off the funking chain!

Agreed on all points. I was worried that the cameos would steal the show. Empire film magazine said that they unbalance the film a little but I disagree; Farnaby and Hogg really hold their own against Barratt and Fielding, and definitely gave the film more 'heart' than the Boosh, if not quite as many laughs.

I read the Empire review about unbalancing. Really, I just feel that Fielding didn't fit the film and felt like he just had a cameo squeezed in. He was just the same as Spider from Boosh, Barratt was superb and fitted in,

I was really surprised by the film and recommended it to a friend already, one of the firxt films in a while I've really felt an urge to watch again even though i only first saw it today.

It still reminded me too much of The Mighty Boosh. The main characters in this film looked just like the guys in The Mighty Boosh. A few quick script edits and it could of been Howard Moon trying to get Vince Noir out of the house, probably because someone was trying to steal his look again. :)
