Horrible movie with no substance & not funny at all.

I seriously hate this movie. Its Not funny at all & the the main character is boring as hell. & this movie gets so unrealistic, & I know its a movie. But I thought the whole premise of the movie was, "What if someone in the real world decided to be a super hero & fight crime." Now, if they made a movie like that, it could be very original & interesting. But this movie just throws that good premise out the window & goes generic & over-the-top like every other action movie ever.

This movie is literally just for kids & teens. I dont mind mindless action, but at least be funny & not so damn boring! & this movie has no morals & people just getting killed like nothing. & Big Daddy is literally a psycho, why would he train his daughter to do sh*t like that(even tho, thats impossible in the real world). & Big Daddy did all this just to get D'amico in jail? & its Big Daddy's wifes own fault that she killed herself, so why is he blaming D'amico? Anyways BD already had a good life with just him & his daughter, but he fcks it up all up for no reason, just for revenge, when his life isn't even that bad in the 1st place. Like why? I dont get it? Am I missing something? The only explanation for this is that Big Daddy is literally special Ed. Actually, its just lazy writing & its a very dumb & forced plot. & Red Mist is so ANNOYING!!!

& the girlfriend is SO pointless & cliche & just shoehorned in, just for kick-ass to have a love interest. She literally does nothing at all for the story.

So this movie is basically a very simple revenge story with no substance whatsoever & over-the-top violence(& a 10 year old girl cussing & killing) just to attempt to be "Edgy." The movie thinks it can pass itself out as good just by that gimmick. Its ok to be overly violent and over-the-top, but there has to be meaning behind it. Theres no meaning to this movie & it feels pointless. He becomes a super-hero for what? What does he even learn from all this random crap? Revenge is OK? Its ok to kill multiple people if its for revenge? Sorry, but this movie is very bad.

It's really not very good, I agree. The lead kid is awful and poorly cast, and is just annoying to boot. The crime fighting father/daughter weren't fun either, they were just boring. We get it, they're cutesy and old fashioned but also kill people, move on. I even like the idea of over the top violence juxtaposed to silly comedy, but this movie did neither that well.

The kid doesn't even train in any way before going after bad guys (which any normal person would, which I thought was the whole point of the movie). He just kind of goes for it, and gets stabbed ASAP. Which luckily leads to him not being able to feel anything. It's not that it's too dumb for me to accept (I mean it is a comic book movie), it's just lazy writing and insults the audience.

The 2nd is even worse somehow though, so maybe it's just us...

I actually enjoyed the 2nd one more than the 1st. Its was just more fun & actually funny, unlike the 1st one. KA1 was just boring. Its hard to explain but KA2 just felt more "Alive". KA just seemed lifeless. & Kick-ass & hit girls relationship was better in KA2. & it was just interesting seeing Hit-girl in high school in that sub-plot.

Anyways, both KA & KA2 are still bad movies, but KA2 was better, in my opinion. KA1 was just SO BORING!!! But KA2 falls under the category of,"SO bad, that its good."

While I actually enjoy these films, I do feel that Kick-Ass 2 has a better story (I hated the high school sub-plot) as it has done what DC and Marvel, even though this is based on a comic by Marvel's indie division, has yet to do, an army of superheros vs. an army of supervillains. Plus, Christopher Mintz-Plasse had the best balance of hilarious spoil brat and intimidating gang leader. Although I do think the action scenes are way better filmed in Kick-Ass 1. If don't like, you don't like, but I actually have a great time with these films, it's all a matter of opinion.

Do you mean the romance subplot? It was put in on purpose to soften the blow of Kick-Ass being demoralized from seeing the reality of his superheroing...

EH! sorta. What I didn't like about the whole nerve-endings thing that made him feel pain less, was that it was never really used effectively. So what was the point of telling the audience about it in the 1st place? Yeah, Kick-ass mentions his something about his nerve-ending in a voice-over near the end, but they still do nothing.

When I 1st heard about him not being able to feel pain as much, I thought that was gunna be super cool & even play a big part with Kick-ass's abilities or be a big plot device later on, but sadly, it doesn't. So why did the movie tell us about his nerve-endings in the 1st place, if they aren't even gunna do anything cool with it & just forget about it?

It is strange to me that you would get the humor of Kick Ass 1 as a teen but now grown up you lost your ability to appreciate it.
It's been over 30 years since I was teen but every time I put Kick Ass 1 on, like today, I find I enjoy it more and more.
I can see though with the theater filled with over the top stupid action (Avengers, Mad Max) that Kick Ass 1 would be slow moving for you.
No offense meant.

Avengers had characters that were cool & dimensional. Kick-Ass's character is SO BORING!!! & Red Mist is so annoying.

& Kick-Ass tries SO HARD to be over-the-top with its violence, just to attempt to be "EDGY". But sorry, that doesn't make u edgy at all, it just makes you come off as trying too hard. & the over-top violence feels so out of place. I never seen Mad Max, but Avengers is NOT over-the-top! The action fits its own universe, being the MCU. That action obviously fits, since they already have super-humans, super-robot suits, & thunder gods & sh*t. But kick-ass is in the real world, but not only that, they go WAY WAY WAY over-the-top.

The over-the-top violence in Kick-Ass is just a gimmick. Take that out, it technically makes no difference. The over-the-top violence doesn't help move along the plot at all, its just "there." Its just a lame attempt to be "Edgy." Its a cheap way to grab the audience's attention. Sorry, this movie is just boring & not funny. I would give this movie a chance if it was funny, but it's not.

For sure! I had the misfortune to watch this at the cinema not knowing what it was about. Me and my friend struggled to get to the end which, my understanding is, that those kids are in bad situations and they do this superhero crap to get over it. I left thinking WTF was that load of crap about. Of course, stupid superhero loving people have voted it a 7.7 on here. Probably most of the USAians with limited intelligence and brain capacity.

Truly an awful and boring ass film.

Both are awful and forgetful movies. But Kick-ass 2 was just more fun.

But I can not honestly understand how anyone over 13 can enjoy either of these movies.

yup , that accounts for all that tedious childish mcu bullshit,

...but i like Kickass

You don't like the movies, and that's all fine. But if you can't understand how a single adult could ever enjoy either of these movies... you are clearly not objective at all.

People can have different opinions than you... Hope I didn't turn your world upside down by informing you of that.

Agreed. 2 was a major disappointment

ive never seen someone so mad over a good movie!

I, like most people, was confused as to whether this film and its sequel were even meant to be comedies. The whole premise of both is absurd and silly, but they contain so much violence.
