A wonderfull and very authentic film

I just came back from the Zurich premiere of Dr. Alemán and am very impressed. August Diel delivered a great performance as a doctor who takes his internship in Cali/Colombia and is drawn into the Colombian way of life.

I liked especially the fact that this film was completely shot on location and mainly in spanish language, which gives the film a great chance to be seen outside of Europe.

The plot was garbage, and pointless. I felt no sympathi for the doctor who came across as an idiot, and there were many scenes that led nowhere.

Then you must have seen a different movie or slept half the time.

Yes, the doctor was a complete idiot. Reminded me somewhat about 'Into the Wild'. A naive adventurous chap looking for 'the real life'. So predictable and in the first minutes of the film you could see how the story ends.

I haven't seen this yet but looks really interesting. I loved the trailer on youtube.

well since you're naked you might as well f___ a friend of mine. Paul come in here!

I'm going to watch it today, but it sounds like a superficial, romantic rip-off of "The Last King of Scotland": http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0455590/

I'm currently watching it on German television (unfortunately in a fully dubbed version, which lacks most of the charme).

I think it's far less romanticised than "Last King of Scotland". I think it's quite honest in most things.
