[SPOILER ALERT] Marc's irrational behaviour

Marc strikes me as an intelligent and for his age independent guy, i.e. the way he tackles his senior consultant. He takes risks in order to satisfy his zest for life and to understand his surrounding, that's OK for me.

However, I do not understand the rational behind his final plot against 'J'. Wasn't it obvious for him that his plan would end in a disaster for him and the ones he loved? Maybe he just saw red and became part of the cycle of violence?

He was just an idiot in over his head.
