I haven't read all the comics but the story lines I've read aren't like this game. I haven't really read most of the comics past 94. Or is it just mostley just made up?

There's an Avengers comic that was collected awhile ago. I can't remember what it was called but basically it had a symbiote invasion much like this.
Also Iron Man and Doom went back to the eighties and it was totally awesome.
Venom has always been more popular than Carnage. I haven't played the game yet but are you saying he didn't make an appearance at all?
He's not in the cast.

Maybe saving him for a sequel? i always loved Carnage's maniacal lust for destruction over Venom's motive of revenge... he always seemed more interesting.
