Jackson Leighter

I'm so sooo happy to learn that this film was finally made! It was originally produced by my great-uncle Jackson Leighter in the early 80s. At some he partnered with James Brabazon on the project, who wrote the screenplay and who had written Schweitzer's biography. I'm not sure which came first, their friendship or the project. I remember uncle Jack talking about it, he was very passionate about the project. He had mentioned that he had gained a commitment from Indira Ghandi to fund the film, but after her assassination her son would not honor the agreement. Unfortunately neither he nor Mr. Brabazon lived to see the project finished, but at least it was eventually completed. Thank you thank you to the current producers and writers :).
