He should have tried to see if she could convert him and then take care of him like he did for her, so he didn't go crazy like Sherry. If it worked they could have been a happy vampire couple. If not, he gave his life for the vampire woman he loved rather than abandoning or killing her. She was just too hot to kill I think.

It seemed to me that he wasn't too keen on spending eternity with her...and she wasn't about to let him go, she needed him to take care of her.
