The Ending...Luke and Mal?

At the end, when Luke says "(Malachy) would of done the same for me," and then the camera flashes to Rupert (Malachy) staring blankly and without emotion...did you get the sense the director was trying to show us that their friendship had been severed?😔

...Like Malachy wouldn't have done the same for Luke, that he didn't see Luke as the blood brother that Luke obviously saw him (Malachy) as?

That was my interpretation at least, which made me feel even more for Luke because he had no one. Even when you witness his brother Chris tell him he should be happy to have a house at his age, all to himself, you can see how that is exactly what Luke doesn't want. That he wants a family, that he wants his dad around even if he's strung out on drugs...so to see that Malachy abandons him makes it pretty sad for me.

Robert Sheehan's acting in this was just superb, right down to his Northern Ireland accent!
