anyone else breathing a sigh of relief...

...that this show is getting pulled off nbc? the sponsorship thing is the huge reason why this won't work here in the 'states. not to mention that primitive, piece of *beep* extremely incompetent neanderthal adam carolla would be hosting this. omg thank god they cancelled this.

I am so glad this thing will not see the light of day! An american version of this show would be awful.

I'm sure they said the same thing about The Office.

US Office sucks.

For one, I don't know if it's been canceled and for two, one of the executive producers is Jeremy Clarkson... how is this going to suck if it has his name involved in this... I don't think this will suck... it won't be nearly as funny as the original Top Gear but I doubt it will suck especially if Jeremy has a part in it.

Have you seen Top Gear Australia?

None of you realize that the Top Gear that you think is the first really isn't. The "Original Top Gear" started in Germany. If you pay attention to what Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond say then you would know this. Plus don't just think that because it is the first one that you see and it doesn't have UK in front of it makes it the true first. Do your research and you will also find that it isn't even the first Top Gear in the UK to ever air. There was one there before this one.

Okay... so, you are happy to see a show cancelled, even before viewing, and even considering that there is zero cost to you except maybe an hour of your life?
I dont care if this show is the biggest piece of crap ever. I just wana see it start so I can make my mind up myself. Maybe it'll be awesome... you just never know... but you wont know until you see it... Either way, you loose nothing...

There never was a reason for this show to be made. Never ever. Top Gear is amazing. Just watch Top Gear.

I don't think The Office argument works here at all. The American version started after the original ended. It may have used the same starting point, but it's telling its own story. I don't understand what the goal of an American Top Gear is. It just seems like it would end up relaying the same information with different accents and less charisma.

I once had a girl, or should I say, she once had me.

Yes, I totally love Top Gear as currently aired, but:

1) They review almost entirely stuff I can't get.

2) BBC America hates us, so airs shows out of order, months or years later, etc.

If it wasn't awful, a US based show along the same lines would be great. And we could have /also/ continued watching the UK version.

I hate the idea of a American version of Top Gear. How about this? BBC America play some new episodes of top gear. i swear to god they keep re-playing over and over again the same 10 episodes. from 2005! (or even later) I love this show and i want it to stay British!

P.S.

POWER!
