Has anyone actually seen this movie?

Is it good or not? There have only been 38 ratings. Most of this director/writer's work have gotten low ratings, but Carla Gugino is in this, so is it any good or what.

I've seen it, but it's not that interesting. It had some jokes, but overall it was pretty weak. But if you want to see these actresses in underwear or you like to see desperate women who keep on whining all the time then you may like it, otherwise better look at something else.

I saw it at a film festival and absolutely loved it. Seductive, funny, wild, and out there with great performances by excellent actresses... and some actors too. Women in Trouble was great, and I was surprised when I looked up the writer/director's other work since this was so far above the others, and so different.

I'd recommend it, but clearly the person above me disagrees so I guess you should take the average of the two and see it if you can- it's a pretty limited release.

I saw it tonight at the Chicago Film Festival as well, and liked it. 8/10 from me. Entertaining film with plenty of surprising moments.

How big is Simon Baker's role in this?

Palicki was hilarious and super acting.

Haven't seen it, but the synopsis and some of the comments i've seen make it sound rather like Almodovar.

Saw it at SXSW. The people in my group (male and female) all gave it a groan and a thumbs down as we left the theater. When a film never transcends the experience of viewing unsympathetic characters acting for a camera, then it's not doing its job.

I saw it at the Memphis Film Festival. It has some cute moments, but it's a bit trite and silly. If I were you, I would wait for it to come out on video--not worth the $10+ at the theater.

This looks more like a comedy than any real danger. Are there life and death scenarios? I had something else in mind when I heard about this movie.

Very good movie. I think it's a mix bag of different genres so it left a lot of viewers confused or disappointed. I've seen it all, people who complain there's not enough sex, those who complain it's too trashy and gratuitous, those who think the jokes are fun but the drama is boring, those who think the comedy ruins the dramatic parts. You'll always find someone who has something to complain about.

I personally loved it. I think it's certainly a juggling act between characters, storys and genres but it's a successful one, with lots of hillarious moments and an underlying deeper reflection about women and their relationship to others.
Not to mention it's brilliantly played by a varied and wonderful cast.

I've seen it. It's OK, but I wouldn't pay to see it.

Just saw it on cable and it's a terrible film. Such a waste of time. It tries to be clever but fails in every way. It's not funny, titillating nor effective and that surprised me given the premise. An 2/10 tops from me.
