Poor writing: because the characters were reality-based and believable?

No character development: why must all movies have over-the-top character arcs?

All flat characters: in real life, most people are quite 2-dimensional, imo. Why must all movies have dynamic characters?

No explanation about why I should give a "sh8t": Gee, I don't know, because they're human? Isn't that enough? You shouldn't require a series of flashbacks or in-depth character history or exposition to f---in' care about a character.

The plot goes nowhere: This is a f---in' "slice of life" movie, not a mystery thriller. Plot is not the focus, story is. Do you know the difference?

No, SHRINK was not AMERICAN BEAUTY (or whatever masterpiece you wish). But I thought it was good. It did not offend me with stupidity, all too common in most movies today. It was a grown up's movie about real life situations, not giant robots from outer space that disguise themselves as cars then, one day, stop disguising themselves as cars and start fighting in the streets over pathetic humans that deserve to die because they are stupid enough to be deceived by giant robots from outer space who openly call themselves Decepticons. It seems that too many people think that if a movie isn't "high concept," then it sucks.

I liked SHRINK. It didn't change my life, but it was not a "dumb moive" as the genius OP so aptly farted out.

This movie is even more boring than real life!

Never trust a thread where the OP simply says 'this movie sucked, don't watch it', then refuses to participate in any further discussion.
