Did she kill her family? I read the book and the movie and it wasn't exactly explained in either version. Are we supposed to assume in both stories that she killed her family? (In the movie she seems more remorseful/soft)

In the book it looks like she did, but in the movie it was hard to tell because they edited in such a choppy and sloppy way..

I also interpreted it that maybe a parent burned her family and she inherited the mental health issues.

I had the same thought after reading the book. Shes is a very disturbed person, and 12 year olds have killed before and it's an easy way of doing it.
