one part of the movie i don't get (spoilers)

The main character stole the van without wearing a disguise while people witness it.

After he did his thing to cause the footage to be destroyed, he was caught by the people who use the van (while not wearing a disguise at all).

How was he not arrested for that?

I like the movie, but it's hard to believe he wouldn't get arrested for stealing the van with people seeing him clearly and not wearing a disguise. He could have gotten away with it by saying some kind of made up excuse, but the movie never showed that.

That bothered me too. I remember thinking "...but he won't get in trouble for stealing/crashing the van?"

That and why Psycho Ed spontaneously just decided to let them off the hook for the $50K and play lawyer.
