Anybody seen the movie yet if so how was it...

I have not yet seen a review yet, it would be great if someone could post a review and tell us how the movie was. How did it compare to the first etc.

All details without any spoilers will be much appreciated.

I've seen it. Pretty good, quite comparable to the 1st one. Top-notch chasing and fighting sequences, a solid storyline, plus a few humorous moments. The ending is a little cheesy though.

The biggest complaint (though not really the movie's fault) is that, when I was in the cinema, there were 20 - 30 young Arabians (who are apparently friends with an/some Arabian actor(s) in the movie), and they were chatting, laughing, screaming... non stop. Extremely annoying, and I couldn't concentrate on some parts in the movie.

Glad that you enjoyed it. I look forward to see this film. I wonder if the French dvd will have English subtitles?

I've seen it as well. Not too enthusiastic about the movie. I felt it was poorly structured, the plot was way too scattered and the characters keep going in and out of the district.

The district inside the wall is the main idea of these movies and I'd like them better if the action was kept strictly within the district, with a strict time limit ala The Warriors or Escape From New York.

The first B13 film had the same problem as well.

The dialogue is horribly cheesy as well which should come as no surprise.

Now for the good news : the fight scenes and stunts are all very good (and numerous). This time tough I felt it was more martial arts than parkour oriented, though there is one very good parkour scene. I had the impression Cyril Rafaelli had more screentime than David Belle but I may be wrong. The direction is serviceable.

The plot is simple but OK, the problem I have is more with the way it unfolds and the way it is structured and executed. This is a bit of a shame, the actors and stuntmen deserve better, they are so talented !

In the end I still enjoyed it even though I may seem harsh about it. I just think these movies have not yet tapped into their full potential.

Is it? I don't know enough French to have been able to understand most of it, but it seemed to me everyone around me was laughing each time Leito and Damien spoke to each other, so I figured there had to be quite a few cool lines. Like in the scene when Leito opened Damien's cell, Damien said something that I didn't catch but it had everyone else in the audience roaring with laughter. Or in the scene when Leito was getting himself arrested.

As for action sequences, you're right, there was far more martial arts than parkour. But then I really didn't like the camera angles used in the parkour chase, so maybe it's for the better that there were more fights than running. On the other hand it did cut David's screen time a lot - I think the president had as many scenes as Leito did. In any case, if they ever make another film (possible considering how packed the cinemas were) I really hope Pierre Morel will be back. He knows how to film chase scenes!

Pity that it has so few Parkour scenes. A third film will probably come out in a few year`s. Then i hope they can find an even balance between the martial arts and Parkour scenes.

It's nice to hear that there are more martial arts scenes in this one, in the first one there wasn't a lot of ass-kicking that Cyril did after the casino scene. Although, yes I would have loved there to be more parkour of course. This is a sequel after all so there should have been more of both parkour and the martial arts. Here's hoping for another sequel! How about Luc Besson directing it in addition to writing and producing?

Yeh I saw it in french and the dialogue is soo cliched it's unbelievable, but that siad there are some pretty good moments and the ending is perhaps a bit surprising.

Worth a watch, just cringe at some of the awful cliches which have just been ripped from english language action films... such a shame...

I felt that all the plots were resolved too quickly and there was hardly any time to set up conflict.

I love mankind. It's the people I can't stand.

It was ok, but not as good as the first.
