that's funny, i didnt know CBP, ICE, and BP had arrest authority over US citizens, other than CBP offficers being able to collect duty and seize contraband at ports of entry and turn violators over to proper authorities.

shareYes, the Border Patrol stationed at the Blue Water Bridge can be merciless. Even worse is the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit. You can't return from Canada without being made to feel like a criminal (and I have the speed pass).
What's most disturbing about this show is when they reveal the "punishment" these people receive. A friend is spending a year in prison for selling a pound of marijuana. They show someone hauling in 240 pounds of weed across the Mexican border and they get 5 years probation.
I went over to Point Pelee Provincial Park one Sunday in late August. I spent over an hour sitting at Canadian Customs just to get into Canada, and then when I returned I got the 3rd degree from the US Border agent. "Where did you go?" - "Point Pelee Provincial Park." "Purpose of your visit?" "To lay on the beach and swim." "Who do you know that lives there?" Lives??? In a Provincial park?
Give a 22 year-old guy a badge and a gun, and that authority goes right to his head.

What a bunch of whiners. Get a grip. We need border patrol, security, police, and military. I'm sorry that you got busted for a misdemeanor pot possession when you were in high school and that the officer didn't say please when he hauled you off to your parents, but we need these people. They do an important and necessary job and people want to see how they do it. I would be willing to bet that these people do far more for our well being than anybody griping on here do (including me).
