why did they get an aussie actress to play...

The sister of an englishmen?! Do they think we can't tell the difference?! This irks me

Because the truth is that most people don't know the difference that well. The only reason I could tell that she had an Australian accent is because I became familiarized with the differences after watching Emilie de Ravin for so many seasons of Lost.

I do have to say, that regardless of the accents, they really do look like brother and sister. In the episode, "Life & Limb", while they were sitting next to each other on the table (?) in her room, in the same positions, the similarities were striking. Good job with that.

But I agree, most people, unless they've spent some time in Australia or England, would have a difficult time telling the difference between accents.

"I think so Brain, but if they called them 'Sad Meals' kids wouldn't buy them!"

Totally agree, I kept wondering why his sister would have an Aussie accent, an American one would have been more understandable as the characters have ment to have been in the US for a long time.

Maybe Americans can't tell the difference, but it is really obvious, so why didn't the actress have some professional pride and do an British accent if that's what the script called for?

Cute & psycho - things even out

because he is suppose to be from Australia

Yes, that's what I remember. He spent time in England so his Australian accent was diluted. They explained it in the show.
