Better direction for the 30 DON franchise?

I loved 30 Days of Night Blood Trails but didn't really like the movie. I'm glad they decided to develop this concept instead of continuing the "vampires invade a little town" story line. I like the idea of the city setting and Blood Trails showed that it could work on a larger scale. My only worry is that as a t.v. show this could loose its "bite" so to speak. Both the movie and the mini-series were edgy and violent. I hope they don't ruin it by reducing it to a "Moonlight" type of show. The last thing we need is another Moonlight/Angel/Buffy the Vamp slayer, watered down show.

Hey, Buffy and Angel are a different type of vampire series, it's not watered down.
The plot in Buffy is about the youth of today going through high school/college like troubles with a demon back story to illustrate the seriousness of every problem. A boyfriend that "changes" after sex for instance.
And Angel is about redemption for a guy that seems so kind, but he suffered from a illness(not having a soul) and then got cured and has to deal with the after facts of knowing everything he did before. It's similar to a drug addict's wish to change and become more than just the label.

The fighting scenes are not the best, it's not about the fights, it's about the struggles of everyday life with a extra burden on the heroes shoulders. Some epsiodes were scry though, like the silence episode, very creepy!

A good scary vampire movie is 30 days of night/comic, and a good film/novel to show the horrors of being in a world that is demented, is interview with a vampire.
I'm sure there are many others, but I can't think of any right now. Nosferatu was excellent at introducing these monsters, while Buffy, Angel and Interview with a vampire makes them more sexy, even Stoker's Dracula shows both the disgusting monster and the seductive gentleman that can be used to manipulate his victims.(plus we get to see Keanu butcher a role and take the film one step down.)

One must decide if they care for a drama vampire story or just a horror/action tale. I like both. The vamps in 30 Days Of night are by far some of the most terrifying vamps I have ever seen. I love it. But I also love Spike on Buffy, he is my favorite vampire character. His search to find a way to be more than just what people expect of him, and his witty humor, and he is damn sexy... yum.

I hate how IMDb signatures look like part of the post.

wait wait wait

you DIDN'T like the movie but you thought Blood Trails was good? That was the worst out of all of this franchise! It was kinda boring, had cheesy cliches and the acting was kinda crappy

yeah, I hope the OP never gets a job as a horror movie critic haha. He picks the worst of the 30 Days films as his best. At least Dust to Dust was decent but still not as good as the movie. Im not saying I want to see another "vampires attack a small isolated, abandoned town" movie again but I'd rather not see another movie where the vampires take a backseat to the story of the other characters and I def don't want a story about vampires with careers and influence in a big city or town blending in among humans or more vampire hunter themes. The "town under siege with locals working together" story works best.
