Please explain the point of the movie SPOILERS

Because I didn't really get it. It made sense until he left Doc to suffocate and left the office with the money and passports to help the girl escape.
But what about the rest? Doc escaped (or he freed her) and she changed sides, not reporting him or the bomb? Highly unbelieveable!
Or did they plan it in advance? If so, what's the point of their whole conversation/argument/fight?

Or was it just a fetish film for torture lovers that doesn't have to make much sense, only trying to justify being one long torture scene for the audience to enjoy with a poor plot twist and a presumptuous anti-torture message in the end?
