My wife and I watched this last night after thinking the previews for it were half way decent looking. Sadly, we both agreed that it was pretty lame and thought it was one of the "stupid" comedies. I felt that it was nothing like Superbad or Pineapple Express, unless my sense of humor has drastically changed over the years.
I watched The Worlds End a day earlier and I thought it was infinitely more entertaining.
I wholeheartly agree with both your statements. This is the End just felt idiotic and drawn out. The World's End was hilarious and dramatic and perfectly combined the two.

Comparison to South Park above didn't cross my mind, but now I think about it its is the closest to live action South Park outside Book of Mormon (which is awesome btw!)

I'm rated at 137. Close enough to make the comparison and I thought the movie had a lot of potential, but it's constant reliance on dick jokes and no wit whatsoever made it a complete waste of said potential.
I loved the demons, I loved the realistic flow of the conversations, but then, every time I started to like the movie, we get talking about orgasming on a porno and watching a guy pee in his mouth.
High IQ is irrelevant.
Mine was scored at 163. I'm glad I haven't watched this yet. If I need to hear 6th grade penis humor I will catch the South Park marathon. Adults doing it in real life is beyond juvenile and just proves that some people have absolutely nothing else to talk about.

shareI disagree about Superbad, that movie was da bomb (do the kids still say that?) - but Pineapple Express was terrible and this movie was even worse. I do like the stars of this movie (with the exception of James Franco - he's a douche) and that's why I watched it, but now I want to gouge my eye's out and reclaim the 90 odd minutes of my life I wasted watching it.

It was one big cringe-fest - basically a wank for a bunch of arrogant rich guys. And we have liked some of their prior films but this was the most self-indulgent thing ever. And not terribly funny. They were also crap at acting themselves, this air of self-consciousness was exuding from the main cast at all times. And why no women?
