I agree. I think it might have added some fun to it. But then, who to play the part since the movie was all about Hollywood actors playing themselves?

Morgan Freeman, naturally.

Satan is not God's analogue. Satan is just another fallen angel. God has no "evil counterpart" in the traditional Judeo-Christian paradigm.

If I agreed with you, we would both be wrong!

reply

Exactly satan is GODS fallen angel. So unless the end of times involves satan coming to earth and god being an omnipresent force rather than an actual personification I was wondering where the representation of god was in this is the end? However the more I'm reading and learning about the bible it would make sense that the "spirit" of the lord would act as an unstoppable yet physically unseen force.

God was omnipresent and absent.

I agree as well. God was there, but not personified as a singular being as Satan was, because God is omnipresent.

I saw God in the beams taking the souls up to heaven. I saw God in the beams taking the re-deemed souls from the apocalyptic world to Heaven when they sacrificed themselves for their friends (talking about the actors we saw in the movie, but I'm sure there were others who "made the cut" so to speak around the world as the guys at Franco's house finally figured out.)

This movie is great, and more than a thought provoker. I'm a Christian, and it did not offend me. On the contrary, it gave me hope; someone had the balls to make a movie about the end of the world as the Bible see's it (some would say, at least)- the movie shows, through much humor, that love is the way to heaven.

That's a message that needs to be spread; love your neighbor, love your brother, like you love or used to love yourself.

reply

If you think this movie is anything other than a mockery of your ridiculous belief system then you weren't paying attention. Love your neighbor or face an eternity of burning in hell is a message that needs to be spread? Christian Mythology is a message that needs to be cast into the waste basket of human history, not spread

reply

How exactly can you say you're a Christian and then say that this movie portrayed anything accurately? You say that the movie shows that love is the way to heaven. Um.... what about JESUS CHRIST? You know, the centerpoint of the entire religion!

reply

You are concerned because this fictional film does not represent a being that May or may not exist the way you envision that being to exist? There's a couple billion people on the planet that all have their own unique idea of a higher power. Maybe God is a blue light that sucks you up to heaven. This is a stupid thing to have an issue with, equal screen time with the devil.

reply

What is this "god" you speak of?

reply

My guess is, he was doing soundcheck with the Backstreet Boys.

Well, God gave the Devil earth as his domain so He doesn't really make any appearances here. We have to wait for our deaths to see Him. If we choose to do so that is.

It was certainly the cleverest pro-Christian film made in quite a while. Well done them.
I would have preferred aliens myself, but whatever.

You might figure it out, possibly less verbally. Sometimes I think language is a bane on society, but indoctrines are the scourge of the planet. Watch the news, religion is the so called Man's excuse to be in a gang. If you live long enough, you see it happen again and again.
I've personally had enough of hearing the same thing for centuries and centuries.

It's funny you talk about regurgitated, parroting responses because this is the 3rd thread on this board that I've seen that you've copied and pasted this EXACT response verbatim. Ha ha.

The god was naturally in India because that is the one true god
