finished it 5 minutes ago, ultimately liked it but.. (spoiler tags)

I just had a discussion with my brother about it and he liked it more then me, but basically up until around the time the kid got possessed and they checked the penthouse with night vision this time I was of the opinion that this is not a movie I would ever reccomend to anyone; rather, I would tell people to just watch the first one. Man that was a long sentence.

I just could not fathom or deal with the stupidity of the SWAT team. There was just so much of it (stupidity) that it doesn't warrant any explanation by me. If you saw the movie, you know every single scene I'm referring to. If you haven't seen the movie, yes, there are THAT many stupid decisions made by SWAT. I can honestly say that at this moment I can't think of a single horror movie that I've seen that had armed professionals behaving this stupidly.

I previously mentioned I started to really enjoy the movie when the boy got possessed, which happens to be the last 20 minutes or so. I thought the nightvision tricks were awesome, I loved how the reporter was possessed, loved how she looked at the camera after killing the priest (freakiest moment for me, the built up tension from the entire movie intensified it), and it completely reversed my ultimate perception of the movie's watch-ability.

Conclusion: I preferred the original [rec] by an immeasurable amount, however I highly reccomend watching this one as well, preferably back to back, purely because the ending is just that good.

EDIT: forgot to mention, I considered turning the movie off when it cut to the teenagers. I'm glad I didn't, but it was a legit struggle for me not to.

EDIT: I lost a lot of sleep last night imagining that the possessed reporter was going to appear out of the darkness of my closet, which would have been the hell world. Can't remember the last time I lost sleep over anything.

*beep* I would LOVE for Manuela Velascos to pop out of my closet into my bedroom! And then climb up and straddle me like she did the priest here? Hot, hot, hot! Lol
