Girl dead ... can't get blood from that? (Spoiler)

I really don't get why, once the girl had been shot, the priest couldn't get blood from her. I mean, I just saw blood gushing out of her neck. Why not just spoon some of that up and be done?

reply

I think the problem is that once the body is dead, the demon soul, or whatever, escapes... I doubt the demon essence would die with the body, so it would be let loose once it's "container" (so to speak) is destroyed.
Thus, the blood is worthless.

THATS why your gotta shot them in the head, not because they like BRAINS, but to shut down the demon:)

reply

The priest needed blood from the body containing the demon, not the zombies being controlled by the demon. Unknown to the priest, the demon was already out of Tristana's body at the beginning of the film, thereby rendering her blood already useless by the time she was shot.

reply

Bingo. That's the conclusion I arrived at, as well.

You said it yourself: he didn't know Mederios didn't have the demon in her any longer. So he still should have tried to collect some of her blood.

reply

The rest of the crew didn't know what was required to collect the blood, or that the demon soul escapes upon death of the physical body. The fact that they themselves would not suggest to collect the blood from the corpse pretty much invalidates that theory, in my opinion, and suggests that the whole thing was just a big oversight by the writers.

reply

My friend and I thought that part was a pretty huge oversight, too.

Because this movie is so far behind american slasher horror, by decades in fact. We've already factored in all this stuff, and i'm sure they've seen the same movies, so not sure why they're trying to party like it's 1980 here, tropewise.

Oddly enough, spanish surrealist movies like Close Your Eyes (vanilla sky remade it) are good, and so are period spooky horror, like the Others (spanish director).

But this movie sucked much donkey on so many levels.

so far behind?? are you fkn serious? lmao another dumb american im just going to leave it at that as i cbf wasting my time on you

Can you imagine if you replaced 'american' with 'black person', 'jew', 'arab', etc.? Oh, God no! That would be prejudiced! Whereas, of course, it isn't now, because baselessly bashing all Americans based on the actions of a few people is totally acceptable and, in fact, soooo damn hip and progressive.

Grow up.

its true, though.
doesnt matter what race or religion you are.
your nationality defines you in the internet.

stereotypically, its like this (this is merely a satire, do not feel offended):

american: fat lazy bastard.
mexican: dirty guy that took mah job.
japanese: crazy human-sized monkeys
british: akward people with weird teeth.
black african (born AND living in africa): from what savage tribe are you from?

and so on.
its all just pointless stereotyping (there is, however, a reason why stereotypes exists).

reply

I whole-heartedly agree that there is a reason why stereotypes exist (and that, honestly, is because they are based in some truth), however, my "beef" with this particular stereotype is that it's "cool".

Sorry, it just seems unfair that pointing out the truth in American stereotypes is considered "hip" and "progressive", whereas pointing out some truths in black stereotypes is considered "racist" and "backward".

Double standard much?

Maybe Father Owen was lying when he claimed his mission was to get her blood. Perhaps he wanted HER, alive/undead, in order to get her demon.

For all we know, he wanted that first blood vial to catch on fire so he would have an excuse to keep looking for her.

But once she was shot, it would become a lot more difficult to transport her and the demon out of there. Or at least, to communicate with the demon.
