Question about the finished game???? If you have it.

I know I had read online that they were going to take out parachutes and going prone from the multi-player on this game. I play a lot of battlefield 2 modern combat on the 360, but I was just wondering from the people who bought this game and are playing it did they actually take out parachuting and going prone from the multi-player? If they did I'm not going to bother with buying it. This franchise has always been about being as real tactically and ability wise as possible. I know being able to parachute over and over a million times in one session is a bit unrealistic, but for them to not let your soldier go prone is ridiculous. Also, one last question, I played the demo and with the recon or sniper kit I noticed that there was only one zoom for the rifle. On battlefield 2 there are 2 zooms with the sniper rifle. I figured it was limited because it was just a demo version, but in the final cut of the game is there 1 or 2 zooms, or does it depend on what rifle you are using? Thanks

I'm pretty sure that they said that parachutes and the ability to go prone will be cut from the final release for balancing issues (campers, spawn-killers)and parachuting is very unrealistic since there are no jets, only helicopters, and I'm pretty sure you can't parachute out of choppers. Anyways, then everyone will just parachute into the attackers base and spawn-kill. To be honest, this will be much more balanced than BF2 for a million reasons, so who cares if there is no prone or parachutes? just buy a game that is balanced, unlike BF2 (which sold a hell of a lot)

P.S I'd imagine that zoom thing will be expanded on in the final release.

I agree, but having a sniper not be able to go prone is really unrealistic. Don't you agree that it should have been left in but made available as an adjustable setting for multiplayer. Either allow it or disallow it. Then everyone would be happy.

reply

But then there still would be sniper campers and spawn-killers. Hell, the game isn't supposed to be realistic. You can be hit head-on by a grenade and not die lol

That is my whole point. If it was an adjustable setting for the host to control players who wanted those features turned off could simply search for a game where they are turned off.

Have you played the demo? You can crouch and snipe in the game but you can not go prone. However, when you crouch in a good spot the snipers are almost impossible to find. Making them even harder to find would have been ridiculous.

For a game that is supposed to be known for its realism having the sniper not be able to become almost invisible is what is ridiculous. Snipers are supposed to be virtually invisible.

"...and I'm pretty sure you can't parachute out of choppers."

You can.

reply

You can, it's true..if you're high, maybe you can imagine you can.

It's called a jump seat.
For recon, transport or civilian helicopters an ordinary parachute is more practical.

reply

I meant in the game :/

And in real life, can you jump out of choppers? i imagined you would just come out of the cockpit and into your own blades lol

There's a system that shoots out the blades before the seat ejects itself.
It's the only way to get the pilots out.

no there is no parachutes or prone in final version. most sniper rifles only hav one zoom but there is one with 2 zoom.
I play as sniper most of the time, and at first it was a little frustrating that there is no prone or multi zoom scopes but after playing a while I have noticed that it would totally ruin the great job that has been done in balancing the classes.
this game is a must buy for fans of 1st person shooters.

Well said lennie. They did such a great job of balancing. Sometimes I think that it is too good. I can never decide who I want to be. I think that I like the Specialist the best but only because I love the C4. However, all classes are great in their own right.

balancing the classes is all well and good, but this game is supposed to be as real as it gets and REAL SNIPERS are supposed to be virtually invisible.

The game was never touted as being ultra-real in terms of what people can do. The game was touted as having real reactions to its environment, in terms of stuff being destroyed, which it does. EA always set out to make a lite version of Battlefield that could be enjoyed in both single and multiplayer for the consoles ever since the travesty that was BF2 for the xbox/360.

Snipers are annoying POS enough without the ability to go prone, I can't stand their obnoxious level of skill! (I can't snipe for crap in games in case you haven't guessed)

Parachutes were fun though...
