How Are Nancy Taylor and Martha Coakley Alive Still?

Here is what I do not get. The victim in this movie and in real life seems to have been murdered during a robbery. How come no one murdered Nancy Taylor or Martha Coakley yet? If you fought your entire life to free your brother and he went to jail for 18 years and was innocent, wouldn't it have been "right" for Kenneth to go and kill Nancy Taylor and Martha Coakley? With almost no real murder cases being solved in the USA, he would have gotten away with it pretty easily and it's gonna be hard for a jury to convict him of 2 charges of murder after being freed from jail for wrongfully convicted of murder.

That's what I don't understand. How come these 2 *beep* up pieces of *beep* are still live? How does Martha Coakley not get *beep* and garbage thrown at her in public 24/7? There really needs to be a group of assassin's funded by someone rich to take care of injustices that our legal system cannot prosecute.

If they just did away with the statute of limitations then they could prosecute them. I don't really see why we need statute of limitations. is that just around to let guilty people be free?

If the statute of limitations was up on being able to prosecute them, would Waters still be able to sue them?? I sure hope so. I know they sued the state and got 3.4 million...but I would personally want to take every penny from those women. Too bad he died so soon after getting out and never got to enjoy any of it. :(

Martha Coakley was the Democratic nominee in the 2010 Senate race against Scott Brown in MA. I'm a Dem but after seeing this film I'm so glad she lost. She should be in prison.

"When fascism comes to America..."

When? Surely it arrived a LONG time ago.

Kenny died shortly after he was released. While those people took away 18 years of his freedom are likely to have long and prosperous life. Nothing in this world is fair.

reply

No one murdered Nancy Taylor or Martha Coakley because murder is wrong (and is never the "right" thing to do).

"An eye for an eye" just leaves everyone blind.

OK, let it be known that I am no fan of Martha Coakley. However, it may be that not all of the information in the movie is true regarding her involvement (or lack thereof) in the Waters case. Here's what I found on google. If interested, you can read it and draw your own conclusions.

No the information in the movie is pretty substantiated... And that PR was written by Coakley's press people so that should be an indicator of how seriously to take that.

The truth is Martha Coakley is a scummy politician who wanted to keep innocent people behind bars so she could save face. She even tried to keep workers of the 1980's day care hysteria locked up because of fabricated testimony from children. The sday care scandel ruined MANY people's lives and Martha contributed to that.

Betty Ann said it perfectly in the film... Martha Coakley is an evil b*tch.

reply

Ummm...no. The movie was not factual. This is not even up for debate as it is the internet age and you can easily find articles online DATED April 2001 that show that he was released from jail less than a month after the DNA came back, whereas hte movie depicts him being held for motnhs after and only released after the two women recanted their testimony. The REALITY is that KEnneth Waters was a free man during the entire time that they got his ex-wife and girlfriend to recant.

reply

Ummmmmm... YES

He was released two days after the state lab determined that the DNA was not Kenny's. That was in 2001. However the state waited well over a year before it did any test. The evidence was discovered by Betty Ann in 1999 and she had a test done privately which showed the DNA was not Kenny's but the state did not conduct its test until March 2001. Whether this was entirely Martha Coakley's fault is not clear.

I also just found out about Martha's Coakley's involvement in setting Keith Winfield, a Somerville police officer free. He (Keith Winfield) was involved in the sexual abuse case of a 23-month old girl in 2005

See here for more evidence: http://www.boston.com/yourtown/melrose/articles/2010/01/06/some_saw_coakley_as_lax_on_05_rape_case/?page=1

mantalcore, the reason Kenny didn't murder those two dirtbags is because - read my lips: KENNY WAS NOT A KILLER.

After watching this film I would think you had learned that by now??? You might have a killer inside you for all I know, but Kenny didn't.

reply

What does MArtha Coakley have to do with it? She wasn't the DA until 1999...and just so you know...only a complete idiot beleives everything they see in a FICTIONAL movie that was BASED on a true story.

The reality is, as soon as the DNA evidence came back showing he was not hte source of the blood, Kenneth WAters was freed from jail. The movie made up the part where they kept him in jail as an accomplice. The REALITY was, he was freed while they decided whether or not to try him as an accomplice.

reply

Hey bacon! Exactly! But Betty Ann says in an interview that MARTHA COAKLEY was trying and intending to get him as an accomplice, that is why although they had freed him, yes, they got the two witness to recant. The movie was all very accurate, just that part chronologically was different, Betty Anns own words in interview.

i dont agree with the OP that somehow murdering Martha and Nancy would have been right.
For Nancy, she should have been put in jail, since she was a dirty cop, and Martha, well it seems she is just a seasoned criminal...i mean politician, so can't say much about her.
If people keep voting on party lines and don't care about real issues, people like these would keep getting elected.

Coakley is up to all sorts of evil *beep* Give women power and they abuse it. Female cop, two lying exes, Coakley. Recently MA had to shut down its crime lab because of a female tech. On the other hand, we see a woman do good when protecting her family. Feminism is sign of a sick society
