I snoozed a bit watching this film. Just couldn't get into it, overall. What was supposed to be the "surefire crowd-pleasing" element in this film?
I also didn't find it all that funny.
Was I just missing the German sense of humor?

I have actually been to Germany TWICE. I loved my visits both time.
Have gone to Berlin and all 'round Bavaria. The food is fantastic. The people were warm. The beer was too, but, damn ... is it good or what???

I'm with you, this movie was bad. I don't get it either, and I'm German.
Awful acting, no cohesive story line, no point to the whole thing really.
