I have a question about the ending SPOILERS

Was it actually Stonehill's drug that the children received and which worked?

I know when he's giving Crowley advice on which one to pick, he says he'd recognize his drug a mile away and neither was his. He also says his theory is the best but this other one is ready for trials now.

But was he lying at this point or were the children really given some other treatment that happened to work? If so, what ever happened with Stonehill's actual drug? Did it get to market?

reply

Nope, Stonehill's (Canfield's in real life) drug has not made it to market.... The kids did get a treatment, just like in the movie, it's called Myozyme, made my Genzyme, and Dr. Chen & some researchers from around the world worked to develop it. This movie has been great to raise awareness, but I like to remind people it's about one man's efforts to find a cure/treatment for his kids - doesn't mean Crowley actually made the treatment - it's more about Crowley's fight to save his kids - somehow, most people who watch the movie come away thinking it was his treatment that saved his kids. Oh well!
