'Harrison Ford hasn't been directed in years'

Victoria Alexander said this in her review.

Truer words have never been spoken.

Somebody get this guy a new agent and a motivation.

What Would Gibson Do?

"HOW DARE YOU SIR!!"

reply

For the past 15 years or so, no one's given him any new dialogue either.

reply

I really enjoyed him in "Crossing Over", but then I really enjoyed the movie as a whole. I suspect I am in the minority, but I really hope "Crossing Over" eventually makes it to Blu-Ray!

Indiana Jones 4 was great.

reply

Most people disagreed, and even its biggest defenders probably wouldn't say Ford was out of his element with that character. He was doing a role that made him famous almost thirty years ago.

I also think Crossing Over was a lot better then people give it credit for. Ford does a great job, of course he really does a good job in anything he is in, it's just some of the projects he's picked in the 2000 haven't been great money makers besides Indiana Jones 4, no matter how bad anyone thought it was it was the third highest grossing movie that year, behind the Dark Knight and Iron Man I think.

Its a great day for America!
Why?
Why the hell not, We're not France that's a start.

Indy 4 was indeed great.

I feel Ford's performances have been good as they always have, but the roles he's taken on have been fairly routine.

Other than Indy 4, we got 'Firewall,' 'Hollywood Homicide,' and 'K-19: The Widowmaker.' Decent, entertaining films, but perhaps fairly routine.

'Crossing Over' was a very small release, I haven't seen that one yet. But that fact that he took that role, this one in 'Extraordinary Measures,' and one in the upcoming comedy 'Morning Glory'.......at least he's doing some new stuff.

reply

I concur, though I haven't seen K19 or Crossing Over yet, he is a hell of a good character actor. Aside from Firewall or Indy 4, however, I have not cared for a Ford film since Clear and Present Danger. But for that reviewer to say he hasn't been directed in years is pure ignorance.

Films are not reality. Reality is not film. Film is only an approximation of reality.

reply

I bet nobody will deny that he was directed in the new Star Wars movie about to come out.

I had the sense that Ford's character in the first half of the movie was a pretty good version of himself. IE terribly shy and quiet.
