I could have sworn that one of the TV spots for this movie has a person loading a gun or something. What- does Fraser take Ford hostage in an attempt to force him to save his kids? (obviously I haven't seen the movie yet...)
What I don't understand is how we're going to stay alive this winter.
Yes, that was a gun in the trailer. No, Fraser does not take Ford hostage. How could you think of something so ludicrous? This film is based on reality, as in, based on a true story. Not some Hollywood fantasy. Get it?
Now I'm not going to give it all away. See it for yourself.
<< How could you think of something so ludicrous? This film is based on reality, as in, based on a true story.>>
For someone who hasn't seen the movie, nor read the book (as if being based on reality itself means a kidnapping/extortion couldn't have happened), it's not a ludicrous proposition.
If you know the high character of John Crowley, it is a ludicous. I mean, a man kidnapping a scientist and forcing him to find a cure for his kids at gunpoint is the stuff of Hollywood, not reality.
That's not the plot of this movie. This movie is based on reality.
What is the true story?
A good father is told his two terminally ill kids have just one year to live, so he goes out and starts a biotech company to find a cure for them. There's a race against the clock and the father has to overcome several obstacles, financial and medical, along the way... All true, because it really happened.
Yes, there was a security guard pointing a gun for about two seconds; if that's something the powers-that-be choose to slip into the trailer, then that's just another example of the PTB being jerks again.
