Emma Stone would not be a good choice to play a full or half Asian character but Allison Ng is 1/4 Asian and with that anyone could play the role of any race. Emma Stone was a good choice.

shareShe was terrible in the movie. They clearly made the character 1/4 Hawaiin just to justify casting Stone in the role. It would have been much better had the character been pure Hawaiin--would have been more believable that she gave a crap about what was going on. Plenty of talented Asian actresses around that could have been great in this. Grace Parks comes to mind. Emma Stone is a good actress--but not in this movie. In fairness, almost all the performances in this movie are crap.
