The only scene I really liked

There was a scene/line in "The Tourist" that I thought was absolutely brilliant and very realistic. I have not seen that much realism in movies for years. It was when the interpreter entered the surveillance room/van and asked "give me some context". This, I thought, was so great because as an interpreter you need to know the context and be prepared to render a good interpretation of things being said. If random text is just thrown at you, you can still interpret what's being said, but it might get wrong or confused.

So this was the best line in the whole movie. IMHO

Yeah, that stood out for me as good attention to detail.

And then... nobody actually DID give him any detail :)

I absolutety agree, as a translator myself too I laugh at that one

I thought it was a little ridiculous, because if they were able to provide the context, then they wouldn't be needing the interpreter in the first place. And it was also probably a case of 'the less you know, the safer you'll be' considering who they were dealing with.
