Who wrote this and what were they thinking? I was enjoying it up to the end but the reveal was so obvious and dumb. Not to mention a load of problems that cropped up just to give a happy ending. Why was the entire plan concocted? Surely if no one knew who he was he could have just gone to the safe and invited Elise when she reached the hotel? There was no need for the wild goose chase.

It was a set up so that the police would kill Reginald Shaw (Stephen Berkoff). This meant that he was basically free. Otherwise, he'd have spent the rest of his life on the run from Shaw who would eventually kill him.

Seems a bit convoluted and far fetched. Surely there are easier ways to do that?
