In the scene where Angelina Jolie walks from the carriage through the connecting doors into the next carriage marked "2" on the doors, does this mean she is going into the second class coach, or is it just coach number 2?

Sure looks like second class to me. Coach numbers are generally not permanent, as the "2" shown here, because the cars are used in different trains and are assigned different numbers.

Marlowe had said 15 years ago: Dead men don't wear plaid. I still don't know what it means.
