now, I haven't seen the movie nor know if this was intentionally released direct to video but I'd imagine it could have had at least a decent opening weekend with Sandlers name AND it being PG-13.

I assumed TimBurr was simply referring to the fact that the movie was produced by Adam Sandler's production company.
shareWhen I saw the end credits and the "Scary Madison" logo I have to admit, I was a little surprised. But just because Sandler's production company is behind it doesn't mean it should have had a theatrical release. There were no bankable actors in it, so it would have been a hard sell to execs to get it to open in any kind of release, be it wide or limited.
Then again, how they managed to squeeze out turds like The Hot Chick and get them to the big screen is equally puzzling... but that's Hollywood for you I guess.
Because it stinks.
