Cringeworthy scene

Yes, I know this movie was only PG-13, so compared to all the R-Rated, NC-17, and Unrated flicks most of us have seen, there wouldn't be anything cringeworthy in this movie, right?

Wrong. I thought they got maximum shock value out of showing Mark's bent broken fingers after being hit with the sledgehammer.

Surprised this scene hadn't been mentioned before.

At any rate, I rated the film a '6', as the ending was a bit WTF? but for sort of an expected turn of events, I thought it was pretty good.

Eh, sign of the times? I guess today's pg13 (or 2009s) isn't the same as 20 years ago....
I also rated this a 6, probably would have been higher except for the ridiculous ending. I actually felt for the characters, and the movie wasn't all that bad. Wish there was more of the mom though. Am I the only one who thought she was hot? I guess I just like em older :)

I agree. His hands would have never been the same again even if he survived.

Indeed. I was shocked that made it into a PG-13 rated film.
