Loved it!

I saw a screening of this in NYC and there was a Q&A after with the director. What a treat to not only see a film of this caliber, but to also hear the filmmaker discuss it. There wasn't a dull moment and I had no idea how it would end. I think it could do well in the US at places like the Film Forum here. I was surprised by the ending, which is always good. I would love to see a film like this do well. I loved the last scene with Maj, especially.

Agreed. I just saw it yesterday, and I was pleasantly surprised, to say the least. Given its 6.3 imdb score, I'd expected something less thought-provoking. Probably the best film I've seen this year.

reply

Curious--did you rent it? I'm wondering where people can see it.

reply

I watched in my local indie theatre somewhere in Europe as part of a series on recent Swedish films, one every week for a month. But yes, I could have rented it instead (I saw the case in three different rental chains).

Thanks. It would be nice to see films like this get a wide distribution here in the US.

it is a great pity that films of this calibre are not more widely available. I stumbled across this on late night tv in Australia and what a gem. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
