Does anybody know what's the name of the piano song played by B Murphy?

Thanks.

reply

It is Thora Birch playing, not Brittany Murphy. The piece is Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven.

How the f$#@ I confuse the 2 of them...Anyway, thanks.

I love the song, very haunting but beautiful. It fits the film.

Right, but there's no indication as to the recording (assuming it was one; is it possible Thora Birch was actually playing?!? It sounds very professional), so I'm wondering who the pianist was; any idea or way of finding out? Thanks...

reply

If it WASN'T Thora Birch playing, then the sync (finger movements/soundtrack) was very good indeed.

BTW, full marks to any watching gamers out there who WEREN'T thinking "Resident Evil" while watching that scene :)

reply

No it wasn't.
I can play that piano piece and I can easily say that only the arpeggio was well done (and it wasn't probably her), everything else was wrong.

I think that when the actor cannot play they shouldn't film their hands at all, it's ridiculous. It's like the hacking parts in the movies, they're also very ridiculous.

reply

"Moonlight Sonata" is the name of the song

its not her, the camera didnt capture the person and the hand on the piano keyboard at the same time, it was either the face only or the hand only, come to think of it i dont remember if they even took the hand playing it..

reply

I looked at the hands playing and they do NOT match the music at all.And by the way, you'll probably never see a movie where the actor really plays, unless maybe its a musical, and even then, they use prerecorded tracks.

'I HATE Illinois Nazis.'

reply

Yeah the terrible piano and music synching took me right out of the movie. How hard can it be to film some hands playing the piano? Really amateurish piece of editing.

reply

The piano parts in the Pianist or even Crimson Peak were pretty accurate.
