... the casting of little Kevin was better (was obviously an Asian actor, which was distracting), and if it the plot details went for honesty over dramatic effect (Eva staying in town of massacre, Eva getting hit by lady despite losing her entire family herself, coworker who was refused a dance saying over-the-top ugly comment, etc, etc). The acting was exceptional, though.

shareI wasn't speaking about Erza, but "little Kevin", who I believe is Rocky Duer, who must have some Asian in him. The middle Kevin also seemed to be channeling some Asian as well. Distracting.
shareAh, didn't see the word "little" in there, sorry! From my best guess, Rocky Duer's mother looks like she could be Vietnamese?, though his father's white. I suppose they casted part Asian children because Ezra himself looks like he could be Asian. It'd probably be difficult to find kids that have Asian-like features without actually being Asian.
shareTake a good look at Ezra's eyes. They have a slight slant to them. I can easily see a resemblance to little Kevin and teenage Kevin. The actor who played little Kevin would only be half Asian. I think the transformation from young to older was done well.
