Third season?

I really like this show and feel like its really getting its legs here in the second season. What are the chances for a third season? I'd hate for the 6 shows due to air in the summer to be the last ones.

reply

Honestly, nobody can really speculate on whether there will be a third season or not. All that we know at this point is that ratings were down from last season's average, and not having The Closer lead-in was a somewhat harmful. However, the demos may be satisfactory to TNT, and the only people who know whether TNT is satisfied is... well... TNT.

Personally, I think we'll see a third season. The ratings are pretty stable, and it gains a TON of critical acclaim. If Andre Braugher, and maybe other cast members or the series, can snag an Emmy nomination, TNT will be happy!

TNT splitting the season and putting the second half on a different night didn't do the show any favors.

I hope it comes back for a third season, but it is still in the middle of the second season. TNT ordered a total of 12 episodes, but because they increased the order they split the season in half and are airing the last 6 sometime later.

I would hope we'd get to hear more about a 3rd season during the UpFronts in May. TNT is quite happy with all the critical acclaim and I'd read somewhere they sell out they're ad space quickly. Ad $$$$ always count :-)

I have become hooked on this show watching reruns. I think it might be one of those shows that word of mouth will bring more fans to keep it on the air. At least I hope so. It is excellent, I think. Point being is that I didn't watch its first airing, and hopefully there are more like me that discovered it in the off season.

reply

They would bring more fans in if they aired a decent number of episodes.

To start in Dec and end in January was short changing people.

IDK if and when they're even coming back, summer is almost here and no word at all about airing the remaining 6 episodes.

reply

I'm not sure what you mean by no word at all about airing the remaining six episodes. They announced a while back that the next six episodes will air starting on June 1st.

Shouldn't be too hard to get advertisers. I bet Big Pharma loves to run commercials for their demographic.

I guess you watch more TV than I do.

I just heard about them coming back this week.

Many people I know haven't even heard of the show, and even people who watch don't know when it is on.

Hard to keep track of a show that starts in Dec and ends in Jan, then goes off the air for 6 months.

Almost EVERYONE I know have NEVER heard of "Chuck".. which has run TWICE as long.. on a much more exposed NETWORK tv! So.. its not unlikely that someone has NOT heard of the show.. which in both cases.. I think are some of the best shows on tv. (Even Chuck season 4 was GREAT.. when it was on point anyway).

But.. that's neither here nor there.. its kind of like the SNL parody "What is Burn Notice?".. I talk to people about Justified.. or Terriers (RIP) and they look at you blankly..

Let's hope so. I receive this on different nights, with different times, and its frustrating. I'm in south Orange County,CA., so it shouldn't be that way. When it began I was so skeptical that Ray Romano would have another silly sitcom. I wanted to scream "Make it REAL" "Keep it Honest!". Which of course, was his idea from the get-go. Bless You!
Consequently its a dramatic piece with comedic over=tones, and Oh So Honest. Love it! The station needs to give it a place, as well as have it on more often. The adults of this world will catch on, and it'll survive another season.
