Ken Jeong - Series Finale

Ive just started watching this, im on episode 5 of Season 1.

Why was Ken Jeong in the pilot episode, says maybe 10 words total then never to be seen again, was he meant to be a regular in the series or something.

Wouldnt a bit part in a tv show like this be a bit of a career downslide after the success he had found in The Hangover film?

Also does the second season actually finish for real with storylines wrapped up or does it finish on a cliffhanger or something like they were planning for a 3rd season?

I remember being OK with the season 2 ender.. but there was plenty that could have gone on. Still sad never got a season 3 but never felt that most of the show wasn't complete. Season 2 put alot of momentum to characters even though I would have loved to see more.
